Unit Title: Data Analysis
In this unit, students will learn a very powerful data analysis tool in Excel application. Almost all big and small businesses use Excel in their day to day functioning for data analysis. The unit offers an introductory of the use of Excel and it is designed to give students a working knowledge of Excel with its usage for more advance topics in data analysis. Students will learn the basic operations such as reading data into Excel using various data formats and organizing and manipulating data for advanced functionality and analysis. With the use of Excel, students will find it easy to understand the given examples and can apply the techniques in the real world. Topics covered will include: Introduction to spreadsheets; Spreadsheet functions to organize data; Introduction to filtering, pivot tables and charts; Advanced graphing and charting; Techniques for Analyzing quantitative data; Analytical activities of data users and Barriers to Effective Data Analysis.
