Unit Title: Special Topics in Physics
PHY704 is a special topics unit that covers various applications in Physics that are relevant for engineering & industrial applications and scientific research. It covers all the major elements of a measurement and control system including transducers, signal conditioning, data acquisition, signal manipulation and programming. Depending on the expert areas of the physics lecturers that will be supervising students in their research projects, students may select areas under the following topics:
- Electronics (analogue and digital)
- Renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, biomass etc.)
- Thermodynamics
- Fluid Mechanics
