Unit Title: Introduction to Library & Information Systems
This unit includes twelve individual topics which will provide you with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of Library & Information System and Information Management concepts. You will be able to learn the evolution of information and information centers. Roles of the library and its interrelation with various information and communication systems. Also how these empower and inspire society by various types of information sources and services over centuries. It contains the responsibilities of librarians and other information professionals, and the nature of information, access, evaluate and use of information efficiently, and ethical issues in the profession in general.
