Unit Title: A Lifestyle, Diet and Diseases
HEC501 Lifestyle, Diet and Diseases unit forms the foundation for all the food and nutrition units offered in the Home Economics program. This unit contains eleven (11) informative and insightful topics. These topics are briefly introduced with an overview of what the topics aim to cover.
The pre-requisites for this unit is a pass grade in both the Home Economics subject in the Solomon Islands School Certificate (SISC) exam at year 11 and in the Food Technology subject in the Pacific Secondary School Certificate (PSSC) exam at year 12. Or a pass grade in both the HEC301 and HEC402 units offered by the University Preparatory College (UPC) of the SINU.
