Overview
The Department of Primary Education is one of the main departments within the School of Education and the Faculty of Education and Humanities as a whole. The Department offers the following programmes Bachelor of Teaching Primary (In-service), Bachelor of Teaching Primary (Pre-service), Diploma in Teaching Primary (In-service) and Diploma in Teaching Primary (Pre-service). The courses offered comprise of units collectively from School of Education, School of Humanities, and School of Science. The aim of the primary teacher education programme is to equip primary student teachers with content, pedagogical, and curricula knowledge and skills that would enable them to become confident and competent to teach in primary schools in Solomon Islands and regionally.
