Diploma of Tropical Forestry

Description


The course covers four (4) semesters which is equivalent to a two (2) years full time study. Each semester has four (4) courses giving a total of sixteen course units and an addition of work base attachment. The structure of the course is designed in such a way that in semester one in the first year, most units are science oriented or with basic science. These are needed to provide the science background before other units are taken by students

Overview


The course has sixteen units. There are four units in each semester and there are equal numbers of unit per semester. In the final year, students are required to do work attachment (intensive) which will be assessed by supervisors.

Admission Requirements


The diploma course admits students at the Forms 6 & 7 Science (Biology) with B or above in English and Mathematics, or a holder of Certificate in Tropical Forestry, or a Certificate in Plantation Forestry with a GPA of 2.5 or above, and /or Form 5 in Science (Biology) with 3 years of work experience.
