Then University clinic is located at Panatina campus and is manned by 2 full-time registered nurses and 1 nurse aid. The clinic is registered under the Honiara City Council so it also serves the health needs of the surrounding communities. Cases that are beyond the clinic’s capacity are referred to the National Referral Hospital in Town which about 10 – 15 minutes’ drive from the clinic.
In the same building we also have a newly built ‘Youth Friendly Centre’. The functions of the center are:
- To provide counseling to youths generally on how to look after their bodies. This includes counseling on teenage and unwanted pregnancies.
- To provide awareness on STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), HIV and AIDS.
