Unit Title: Environmental Laws and Regulations in SI
The unit aims at helping students to differentiate between legislation, policies and provincial ordinances. Students are guided through the processes of how legislation, policies and ordinances are derived and adopted or enacted. Their effectiveness, policing and implications on public behaviour, will form part of the student’s policy evaluation and recommendation strategies. They will have at their disposals certain national legislations, policies and provincial ordinances especially those pertinent to the environment. Students will appreciate the step in policy formulation such as; identify the problem, lists of alternative solutions, analysis and recommendations.
