SIPWS40117 – CERTIFICATE IV PLUMBING & WATER SERVICES
Course Overview
SINU delivers quality Plumbing training to suit industry needs. The SIPWS40117 Certificate IV in Plumbing and water services is designed to offer students the opportunity to further their skills and experience within the construction industry.
The plumbing course is delivered using Competency-Based Training (CBT)
Graduates of this qualification will be able to use their skills to read plans and calculate plumbing quantities, layout, test and maintain pipes, fixtures, metal roofing, fittings, hot water units, and appliances, install pumps, domestic treatment plants, water tanks, water heaters, solar water heating systems, collect and store roof water and more.
This award may help to prepare a graduate to apply as a plumber in the industries within the Solomon Islands. The plumbing water services industry and their levels are aligned to the Solomon Islands Qualification Framework (SIQF) which will be form part of the Solomon Islands Tertiary Education Skills Authority (SITESA)

Entry Requirements
- Form 5 & 6 with passes in Maths & English
- Have significant prior industry experience (more than one year) who can demonstrate Maths and English in the area in which they wish to train.
- Applicants may apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Course Delivery
The course duration is 3 years. Students will attend classes for 10 weeks each block. And 6 months on industry work placement. There are 4 blocks to complete the course program.
Delivery Mode:
Face to face. Training will be delivered in English and incorporates language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) support.
