Unit Title: Chemical Principles
This unit offers students to develop more understanding on chemistry principles, especially with reference to their previous understanding of foundation chemistry units. Unit contents include F7 selected concepts revisited, chemical structure and bonding (lewis theory), chemical bonding theories (vsepr, vbt & mot), organic compounds (alkanes, cycloalkanes and their stereochemistry) and stereochemistry at the tetrahedral centres, thermodynamics, enthalpy, entropy and gibbs free energy, kinetics and electrochemistry (electrolysis). At least ten experiments are compulsory in order to pass this unit.
