Solomon Islands National University (SINU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, is pleased to announce the International Education Conference on 19-20 June 2024, themed “Rethinking Solomon Islands Education for a Sustainable Future Through Tok Stori”. This event, supported by DFAT Australia, is open to the public and will gather scholars, educators, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for transforming the Solomon Islands’ education system.

The conference aims to analyze the current education system, explore global best practices, highlight education’s role in sustainable development, propose strategies for equity and access, foster collaborations among stakeholders, and present studies on sustainable education. Highlights include keynote addresses by Dr. Franco Rodie (MEHRD), Professor Rebecca Monson (ANU), Professor David Gegeo (SINU), and Associate Professor Debra McDougall (UoM), as well as panel discussions, paper presentations, and networking opportunities.

Attendees will include educators, researchers, policymakers, NGO representatives, community leaders, international experts, students, and youth leaders.
