Unit Code: MTH502

Unit TitleStatistical Analysis

This unit will introduce you to statistical methods and analysis and its day to day applications. This unit is designed to give students a rigorous grounding in the use of statistical analysis for analyzing and predicting the behavior of various real systems, including an analysis of population data, renewable energy resources (such as wind speed and radiation), chemical reactions at different conditions, student academic results and so on. After a study of the statistical tools available, students learn how to analyze data and to make predictions on system behavior for changing conditions. Key aspects include the use of the z-score, standard deviation, normal distribution of large datasets and probability theory.
