Unit Title: Food Development

This unit investigates the global perspective on food and the development of food products to promote nutrition and health. It also explores and helps you understand the food systems that ensure food and nutrition securities are sustained to ameliorate population nutrition. This includes investigating where people get their food, what influences this decision and the various aspects of the local and international food development and movement, including access to healthy food.  

The understanding of the global outlook on food and nutrition forms the basis on which the analysis of the impact of relevant policies and regulations on food production to sustain population health is done.   Consideration and awareness on the contributions stakeholders make towards achieving nutrition and health in the Solomon Islands and throughout the world will also be realized.
