Unit Title: Introduction to Environment and Food Security
The unit aims to help students define food security, identify its importance to Solomon Islands, Students will learn of food security issues from other countries and examine how poverty and food scarcity may be addressed through the available resources, methods (traditional or modern food preservation practices) and policy initiatives. Students should be able to appreciate that food security is affordable, safe, healthy, and meets the dietary requirements of common Solomon Islanders.
