Unit Title:Β Contemporary Issues in Education
EDU702 explores the historical, structural, socio-economic, technological and natural disaster issues that impact education in general and particularly on teaching and learning in the classroom. It is hoped that teacher trainee will develop a broader understanding of factors, perspectives and structures that influence their practice and therefore will be able to make informed decisions particularly on matters that affect their teaching and studentβs learning. This unit is therefore designed to prepare pre-service and in-service teachers undertaking the Bachelor of Teaching Secondary and Graduate Diploma in Education courses to enhance their knowledge, skills and understanding of selected educational issues on a broad global basis as well as on a regional (South Pacific) and national level.
