Unit Title:Β Human Development
Human DevelopmentΒ is a unit pitched at level 5 of the Solomon Islands Qualification Framework. This unit is taught in the first year of the secondary and primary teaching bachelors and diplomas currently offered by the Faculty of Education and Humanities at the Solomon Island National University. It offers student teachers the opportunity to explore and increase their knowledge of how children grow and develop and to consider some of the influences on this development as having the foundational understanding on the human development process will help teachers to work effectively in supporting young children at different stages of the development process to maximize their learning in a formal or structured learning environment.
